I just put sand in my aquarium and water turned dirty brown?
First of all I washed the sand like 20 times with warm water and then even boiled it .
Then I took a glass and fill it up with cleaned and boiled sand and added it to aquarium from the top basically throwing from the top. Filter was closed during this.
Now my water is dirty brown colour and I cannot see anything in it . Where did i mess it up or how can I clean it now .
Please help.
Thanks for all of you for your expert advices .
Well I am thinking of getting rid of the dirty water rather than starting all over again.
The sand was from the beach and was very beautiful and clean in looking.
So form your responses now I’ll let the filters run for like 2-3 days and then see if it gets clear .
If not then I have to start all over again .
FOr now it looks like a mud in there even though i washed like crazy.

Can you bleach water babies clean without messing them up?
I have 8 water babies I found at Flea Markets. Their for my baby shower the “dress the baby game”. But the babies have marker, pen and finger nail polish on them. Can I put a little bleach in some water and soak them for a while to clean this off of them, or will it ruin their eye color and skin color?? –Plain soap and water isn’t cleaning the marker/pen/polish off. Any advice would be helpful.
stretching water color paper?
I have worked with water color alot back in high school and always stretched my smaller papers my using the old tape it to a drawing board method, but now i have a BIG water color paper. My niece wants a portrait of herself (there is an old big one of her older sister at around the same age, which i did in acrylic, but I can’t afford to buy that much acrylic paint lol) and it has to be big. so i went out and bought a big sheet of water color paper today and realized that i can’t think of any board i can find big enough to stretch it. so i was wondering what my options are. I’d prefer not to have buckling all over the place, and i can’t exactly be carrying it around while it’s wet and i’m painting on it anyway.
can i stretch it directly on a table?
i used to tape big projects in acrylic and oil to a wall if i couldn’t find any other space, but i can’t do this with water color because the colors will run down the page.
what if i stretched it on a floor?
any ideas would help.
well i always stretched it with a sponge and butcher paper before, i just haven’t worked with anything so big before, now that you mentioned it though, the floor would get it dirty, even if it was a clean floor, something would happen, cuz that’s how the world works.
When water marbling nails, could you do more than one nail at once or one at a time? Also, tips?
I’ve water marbled my nails before and they all turned out pretty neat, but I want to know if there’s an easier way to do it, and if they can come out looking better. Would I put a base coat of nail polish on first to keep them from looking too transparent with more sheer colors?
Any answers to my questions would be wonderful
Does using the Air Dry cycle on my dryer help delay the the fading of colors?
Is using cold water and being light with detergent, along with the air dry cycle on my dryer the best way to keep my bright colored shirts looking new? It always breaks my heart when I see the colors on my favorite shirts fade and I am just curious to know the best way to keep them looking bright?
How a spectrum is displayed on the wall when using a pocket mirror and water?
Ok, so I am doing an experiment for class and found the results but don’t know how to explain them. I placed a small tray of water in a windowsill containing bright sunlight. Using a pocket mirror, I leaned it towards the window and a spectrum (basically a rainbow) was shown on the wall. So how exactly does this work? The light does what? to make the rainbow colors on the wall.
I’m sure it has to do with refraction, but am at a loss for explaining it. Thanks for any help.
Water on bathroom floor with bright blue substance in it?
We discovered a puddle of water on our bathroom floor between the toilet and the outside wall. The water has a bright blue substance in it. We carefully checked around the base of the toilet – no water and no bright blue color. We checked the basement – no sign of leaks of the bright blue color. It almost appears that the water came from the outside wall but we aren’t certain of that. Plumbers and carpenters – any advice on where the water may have come from and what the blue substance is?
